  • Create a wiki page

Create a wiki page

To create a wiki page:

  1. On the Site Actions menu, click New Page.

  2. In the New Page dialog box, type a name for the page, and then click Create.

    Note    By default, new pages are stored in a page library, which is called Site Pages.
Edit a wiki page
  1. On any wiki page, click the Edit button.

    Note    This step may be unnecessary if you just created a page, because a new page opens in edit mode.
  2. Edit the page by doing one of the following:
  • Typing or pasting content and then formatting it. Click the Format Text tab.

  • Inserting items. Click the Insert tab.

  1. When you finish editing the page, click the Save & Close button.

    Note    The Edit button appears when a wiki page is in saved mode. The Save & Close button appears when the page is in edit mode.
Format content on a page
  1. To format content on a page, click the Format Text tab.

    Note    The Spelling button is available only on SharePoint Server 2010 sites that have the publishing infrastructure turned on. Ask your administrator about this option.
  2. Choose from the following options:
  • Type or paste text onto the page.
  • Click the Font, Paragraph, and Styles options to format text on the page.
  • Click Text Layout to change the page layout.

Insert items on a page
  1. To insert an item on a page, click the Insert tab.

  2. Choose one of the following options:
  • Insert a table.
    Click Table, and then select a size for the table.

  • Insert media such as a picture or a video or audio file.

    Click Video and Audio.

    Note    The Video and Audio button is available only on SharePoint Server 2010 sites that have the publishing infrastructure turned on. Ask your administrator about this option.
  • Insert a link by using a web address (URL) or by inserting a file on the page.
    Click Link.

  • Insert a file.
    Click Upload File.

  • Insert a Web Part.
    Click Web Part.

    Click Existing List.

  • Create and insert a Web Part.
    Click New List.
